コーンウォールとウェストデヴォンの鉱山景観について

イングランド南西部、コーンウォール州とウェストデヴォン州にある二つの街に股がる鉱山地帯。
18～19世紀前半にかけて、銅と錫の鉱山として急速に発展し、19世紀後半には世界の銅の3分の2を産出し、産業革命に多大な貢献をした。
蒸気機関を使用する当時として画期的な採掘方法や技術は世界各地の鉱山に影響を与えることとなった。
